"¡El tiempo pasa muy rápido cuando estoy dibujando!"
Candela nació una primavera de 2009 en Sevilla, en plena Feria de Abril. Alegre y divertida, mi pequeña siempre destacó por tener mucha imaginación y un gran sentido del humor.
Cuando sólo tenía tres años nos trasladamos a vivir a Durban (Sudáfrica), donde jugaba descalza entre pelícanos, monos y gansos. Quizás influenciada por los safaris a los que solíamos ir, o por la vida salvaje que nos rodeaba en aquella época, lo cierto es que nunca pintó princesas ni muñecas.
Tras vivir tres años en Sudáfrica, decidimos trasladarnos a Londres (enero de 2016). Aquí hemos tenido la suerte de encontrar una academia de arte a la que acude mi hija de vez en cuando, ¡y le encanta!
Candela pasa gran parte de su tiempo dibujando, ¡y disfruta con lo que hace! Y, como muestra, aquí tenéis una pequeña entrevista con nuestra joven artista:
Pregunta: ¿Con qué edad empezaste a dibujar?
Respuesta: No me acuerdo muy bien, creo que en la guardería, pero los dibujos más chulos empecé a hacerlos en Sudáfrica con 3 o 4 años.
P: ¿Quién te ha enseñado a dibujar?
R: Nadie, dibujo lo que tengo en mi mente.
P: ¿Qué es lo que más te gusta dibujar? ¿Por qué?
R: Animales porque son muy chulos y los dibujo muy bien. Cuando empecé el colegio en Londres aprendí muchas cosas sobre los dinosaurios, ¡y quedé alucinada cuando vi como eran realmente en el Museo de Historia Natural! Desde entonces me gusta mucho dibujarlos, ¡y los dragones también!
P: ¿Dibujas todos los días? ¿Cuánto tiempo?
R: Casi todos los días, pero no sé cuánto tiempo... ¡El tiempo pasa muy rápido cuando estoy dibujando!
P: Cuando tenías 4 años y vivías en Sudáfrica, la profesora te pidió que te dibujaras e ti misma en la portada de un cuaderno, ¿cómo te dibujaste?
R: Jajaja, me dibujé rodeada de animales y encima de una jirafa, y a mi "seño" la pinté encima de una cebra, ¡me encantan los animales!
P: ¿Es verdad que cuando llegaste a Londres los niños de tu clase te encargaban dibujos?
R: Bueno, sólo me encargaron algunos, pero todos me decían que les enseñara a dibujar como yo.
P: ¿Qué lápices te gusta usar para dibujar?
R: Todos. A veces uso lápices de madera, otras veces ceras, otras veces rotuladores, temperas, pinturas...
P: ¿Por qué cambias el orden de los colores de los estuches y las cajas de lápices?
R: Porque quiero que se vean bonitos, y los coloco como si fueran un arcoiris.
P: Actualmente asistes a una Escuela de Arte, ¿qué es lo que más te gusta de las clases?
R: Me gusta mucho pintar allí porque tenemos mucho material para dibujar y aprendo cosas muy interesantes sobre los pintores famosos.
P: ¿Cuáles son tus dibujos animados favoritos? ¿Los sueles dibujar?
R: Power Rangers, Bob Esponja, Dora... ¡Y me encanta Harry Potter! Me gusta verlos, pero no suelo dibujarlos!
P: Cuando vas de paseo con tu familia, ¿qué llevas en la mochila?
R: Cuadernos, colores y agua.
P: ¿Qué le pediste a los Reyes las Navidades pasadas?
R: Varias cosas pero, lo que más me gustó fue un dragón que vuela de verdad, un maletín de pintura profesional, y las clases de arte.
P: ¿Qué es lo último que te has comprado con el dinero ahorrado con tu paga semanal?
R: Una agenda y una cajita de minilápices.
P: ¿Qué quieres ser de mayor?
R: Veterinaria, youtuber y profesora.
P: ¿Qué consejos le das a los niños para que dibujen mejor?
R: Que dibujen siempre que quieran y las cosas que les gustan de verdad.

Candela was born on a spring back in 2009 in Sevilla, in the middle of the Feria de Abril. Cheerful and funny, my little girl always stood out for having a lot of imagination and great sense of humor.
When she was only three years old, we moved to Durban (South Africa), where she played barefoot between pelicans, monkeys and geese. Perhaps influenced by the salaries we used to go to, or the wild life that surrounded us that time, the truth is that she never painted princesses or dolls.
After living three years in South Africa, we decided to move to London (January 2016). Here we have been lucky to find an art academy that my daughter visits from time to time, and she loves it!
Candela spends much of his time drawing, and enjoys what she does! And, as it is shown, here this is a small interview with our young artist:
Question: When did you start drawing?
Answer: I do not remember very well, I think in the Nursery, but the coolest drawings I started to make where in South Africa when I was three or four years old.
Q: Who taught you how to draw?
A: No one, I draw what I have in my mind.
Q: What do you like the most to draw? Why?
A: Animals because they are very cool and I draw them very well. When I started school in London I learned a lot about dinosaurs, and I was amazed when I saw them at the Natural History Museum! Since then I really like to draw them, and dragons to!
Q: Do you draw every day? How long?
A: Almost every day, but I do not know how long... Time goes by so fast when I'm drawing!
Q: When you were four years old and you lived in South Africa, the teacher asked you to draw yourself on the cover of the notebook, how did you draw yourself?
A: Hahaha, I drew my self surrounded by animals and on the top of a giraffe, and I drew my teacher on the top of a zebra, I love animals!
Q: Is it true that when you arrived to London the children in your class asked you to make pictures for them?
A: Well, I was only asked by some, but they all told me to teach them to draw like I do.
Q: What kind of pencil do you use to draw?
A: Everything. Sometimes I use wooden pencils, sometimes crayons, markers, pens, paintings...
Q: Why do you changue the order of the colors of cases and boxes of pencils?
A: Because I want them to look nice, and I put them like a rainbow.
Q: Currently you're attending art lessons, what do you like most about these classes?
A: I really like painting there because we have a lot of material to draw and I learn very interesting things about famous artists.
Q: What are your favorite cartoons or series? Do you usually draw them?
A: Power Rangers, Sponge Bob, Dora... And I love Harry Potter! I like watch them, but I do not usually draw them.
Q: When you of for a walk with your family, what do you carry in the backpack?
A: Notebooks, color pencils and water.
Q: What did you get from the Wise Men last Christmas?
A: Several things, but what I liked the most was a real flying dragon, a professional painting case, and art classes.
Q: What is the last thing you bought with the money you saved with your weekly pay?
A: A diary and a box of mini pencils.
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Veterinarian, Youtuber and Teacher.
Q: What advice do you give children to draw better?
A: They must draw whenever they want and the things they really like.
